Absolutely. But we dint pick thakur as an AR for the 3rd test too. Had we picked him along with 3 pacers like bumrah siraj and shami/umesh then we would have won regardless.

We really did a number on them at this venue.  That Sundar Shardul Partnership probably shocked the Aussies...  They were on course for a comfortable win after blowing our top order.  Also shows what couple of fearless new players can do.  Shardul was real hero imo..  Whatta legendary performance in that game.

Joe root has always been hazelwoods bitch. That's all you need to target him. Channel ball outside off. He will get smashed. Too bad he doesn't have a weakness vs spin like kohli hence he is able to make big scores.

Siraj was raw. Nobody knew what he was going to do.  I don't think from a physical perspective we are not match for their  well above 6 feet bowlers.   They still had wood over our top order. Gill played outstandingly well. But Mayank was still clueless against Starc.

He took apart Starc imperiously. Even our dressing room left stunned. One advantage for us though was we were in a nothing to lose situation with a severely depleted side.

Lol every player has that weakness..  Cummins particularly troubles him.  Sometimes the match ups are just too much.  Kohli vs Andu is also similar case.  Kohli plays Cummins well though.

Shardul is a legend for sure. We lost the toss too. We dint even have luck with tosses. In australia winning toss and batting first makes a huge difference unless weather is like today. On regular days it makes a huge difference. 

 

Cummins has issues vs lefties. His average is higher vs them. Sundar being a leftie helped. you need a top level bowler to get shardul out because he is no slouch with the bat. Cummins had to bowl a ripper to get him out in the end.

They are sacred of bumrah and shami. What do you mean not a match physically? What, they are going to fight now? 

We dint even have our best bowlers playing together.

Yeah also we were struggling to take out the opening stand in 2nd inns...  Harris was spanking our bowling & Shardul delivered the blow outta nowhere & gave us the opening.  It was slowly going the Perth 2018 way otherwise. 

 

Ashwin Shardul Sundar Rahane Pant Siraj were the real heroes imo..  Bumrah played supporting roles in MCG win.  Ashwin & Jaddu were real difference makers in bowling attacks.  Aussie Pace attack barring Starc still had better average than us...  But Ash & Jaddu outbowled Lyon & there was the difference

Actually Kohli got out 5 times to Cummins in 6 matches. Infact first 4 dismissals came for almost no run.  Got out in all kind of weird ways.

Mcg bumrah had like 7 wickets in that match iirc. 

He was the main reason we won along with rahane 100. 

 

Test 3 we were a man down because saini *ing got injured. We also dropped several catches of bumrah.

And siraj averaged around 23 In the last match. He only averaged 31 in the third test because he was new at the time.
