No they don't provide competition because Kohli's teams dominate the teams it needs to dominate and they compete in all countries. Only thing missing from Kohli the captain is world trophies. Kohli is 1000 times captain ganguly ever was and unlike Ganguly he leads from front even on tough pitches and does feign sickness by seeing green pitches.

 

For Ganguly's teams beating Zimbabwe was a big deal. Not because Zimbabwe was good team.
