I think we will flip SA first and Pakistan last....England before Aus

 

Not cause England are a good team etc. But the truth is that we generally do well away to Aus more so than England.

 

SA I think we are on the cusp. SA will tour India after this series and even if they are 2 up India will flip it at home.

 

Windies as well its a matter of how much we play them.

Aus

England

Pakistan

 

Thats how we will be flip them IMO.  So say in the next 3-4 years we will flip SA and WI. 

 

Pakistan hmm i just dont see us playing them for a long long time to come in a test series.

South africa actually has been a bogey team for india. Of their 15 wins against us , 5 wins have been at our home conditions which is remarkable. They are the only side in last 40 years to beat india at home by a margin of more than 1 test ( 2-0) in 2000 ( which led to tendulkar leaving captaincy and ushered gangulys era) . India has only lost two more home series in last 40 yrs. 2-1 aus in 2004 and 2-1 eng 2012.

and have to say, 

 

India is much better than these head to heads suggests. We are lagging cause in the 70s and 80s our mahan BCCI used to take 1-0 leads and then roll out pattas cause they wanted 5 days of cricket. Ruined not only our win loss ratio but also the averages of our spinners who were much much better than what the figures suggested.

Don't think we are flipping them all. It's just one phase in which we are dominant everywhere. India will not have that many world class talents forever. Bad phase will leave Australia and they will better team atleast after 5 years. In England's case it a mismanagement of resources, they will be a different team ten years from now.

For example to flip h2d against Australia, we need atleast 35 tests, difference of 13 is huge. By the time these two teams play 35 tests, Kohli, Bumrah, Shami, even Gill, Pant will be gone and we don't if their succesors will be better than their Australian counterparts.

Flipping Aus/Eng W/L ratio is not going to happen for decades..  Nor should we care as long as we keep winning series.   No point bringing Early 50's & 60's stats..  We barely had anything as a country back then.

If things go as per plan.. there could come a time when we will easily surpass the records of ATG  teams of WI & Aus

it will take a while to flip some of these records. there needs to be a sustained long-term planning and effort.
