Can India win 3 matches in a Overseas test series outside Asia for the first time since 1968?

We did that in 1967-68 when we beat NZ  3--1..  Never happened since then.

We had a shot to do it in England this year in Manchester but it was postponed to next year..

Now we have a realistic shout to do this first in SA & then later in England.

nha dont see it happening hey. 2 - 1 india i feel. toss does make a difference here. s.africa can still beat us. although lankans chased 300 plus vs them not too long ago.

i think we will beat england 3 - 1 however. i dont think they can beat us even at their home. They are completely deflated. They have the tools. they are a good side but mentally fragile.

I think we have a better chance at 3-0 in SA than 3-1 in Edgbaston...  England will be battle hardened after facing Kiwis in Early summer.  Either way I expect Kiwis to win & Eng come very hard at us..  As our preparation for a one off test would be minimal.

England fought us well at Lords.. And in fact were on top until day 5 & same in Oval on Day 4..  SA much weaker compared to them I think we totally dominated them & were in cruise control since day 1.

remember england won the toss too. we would have dominated them had we opted to bowl first because conditions were conducive to seam/swing at the time.

but yes anything is possible. hopefully we can beat england. no doubt we have the tools but i think archer will be back. Will be tough. got to go with siraj bumrah shami thakur again. should be able to win.

Winning against Eng would have been more feasible this yr than next. As for SA tour, I expect them to win at least 1 test just because our middle order is non-existent.

Yeah..  With Stokes Archer likely back I see India finding it tough.  Stokes with ball destroyed us in 2018 Edgbaston test.  That's far away for now.  But we really should beat Saffers 3-0 this time.  If Current England side can smash them we can do better

Sam Curran novelty factor that series. Won't Impact us now. I think we can beat them even with stokes and Archer back but it depends on selections ofocurse.

Archer is not as good in tests as many people think he is. Had beginners luck in Ashes 2019 but looked above par since then. We should be fine against him. And Stokes looks disinterested these days and i suspect a red ball retirement coming from him à la QDK.

He looked alright in India..  Was generating lift from unresponsive surface last I saw.  He can move the ball..  Although not a bigger thread than Broad or Woakes.  Stokes I doubt will retire.  Guy is prime candidate for Captaincy after Root.  ECB's test contract is 1p times more lucrative than a cash stripped board like CSA.  Kock has other deep issues with board.  He might become a full on mercenary.

We have only started regularly playing 4-5 match test series since last few years.  Most years in between we played 2 and 3 tests series and it is really difficult to win 3 matches in such series

Hmm..  Last I remember in 2016 we played 4 tests in WI...  Had a chance back then but PoS test was washed out & Chase drew that test in Jamaica I guess.  Series was won 2-0.

Tougher to pull this off...  In modern era.  England seems like only country doing that to some success off late..  3-1 win in Aus 2011 & 3-0 vs Lanka in 2018 & 3-1 vs SAF in 2019/20

Yes, Eng is not a bad traveling team, but the current one looks in horrible shape

If not for rain in first match we would have won. Also we would have won if kohli after all his prayers having won the toss decided not to bat first in trentbridge.
