Considering the 2022 (Aus) & 2024 (WI & USA) T20 WCs, which one (or two) among the new pace bowlers being tried out recently is the better bet and therefore should be given more opportunities? Below are pros & cons of each player:

Arshdeep

  • Pros: Yorker specialist and can move the ball as well
  • Cons: A lack of consistent pace. Usually good for some specific role

Avesh

  • Pros: Can bowl at multiple stages. Can bowl 140+ relatively consistently
  • Cons: Appears more like a support/backup bowler

D Chahar

  • Pros: Can swing the bowl. Can bat too.
  • Cons: A power play specialist. Lacks consistent pace.

Harshal

  • Pros: Death overs specialist (esp. in conditions where the ball grips the pitch)
  • Cons: A lack of pace. Limited utility.

Moshin

  • Pros: Multi stage bowler. Can bowl quick. Uses bounce well.
  • Cons: None so far apart from needing more games to gain experience and improve himself further.

Prashid

  • Pros: Good at creating awkward bounce. Can bowl quick.
  • Cons: Can have issues at the death.

Umran

  • Pros: Express. X-Factor.
  • Cons: None so far apart from needing more games to gain experience and improve himself further.

Apart from these, there are guys like Tyagi and Natarajan, who may not be considered yet (not in the pecking or have lost steam) or have fitness related issues.

Umran, Prasidh, Mohdin and Tyagi are the good ones.

Do people think Rohit and co. are idiots and have no idea what they are doing. If they are giving him chances, he must have something good.

And I hate the word persisted. He averages 30, good enough in this format.

does that apply to all players they are giving chances to, or do they turn idiots when its someone we don't like.

No point of discussions if we can't question the decisions they make.

Well I don't like Iyer, Jadeja but have no problem with them playing them.

With Kohli, I never saw any pattern. He would randomly pick players and drop them, so I criticize him. There was no exception, maybe except Thakur. So, in this case I appreciate them.

Same way, I wouldn't complain if Vihari is given any number of chances even if he fails miserably. I don't rate him either, but I cannot be always right.
