Quoting from that article to highlight the scam that is Indian media

1. Did Kohli not get enough time to settle in tests where he's been bombing just as embarrassingly?

2. ODI still thought of a format where you settle in like it was 2014

indeed. ODIs are not some gully cricket to get back into form.

He is not needed for Asia Cup. He will be needed only in Australia, for one last time.

Importance of Kohli

Last 12 months

India's performance in T20 and ODIs

T20

19 wins 7 losses

6 wins  3 losses (With Kohli)

13 wins 4 losses (without Kohli)

ODI

6 wins 5 losses

3 wins 4 losses (With Kohli)

3 wins 1 loss (without Kohli)

Why do we think he is a must in this format for our side? Obviously him being in the side is more detrimental to our side than him being out of the side.

you should ask the fanbois on ICF this question. there are enough of them around even now, and they will emerge like a sea of locusts the moment he makes his next 100

Typical ICF logic (or the lack of it), winning or losing is not in hand of one player. And it's not like Kohli's replacements won many of these matches. While his form is a matter of concern, this is absurd criteria to judge.

I think the question from the poster was: Why do we think he is a must in this format for our side? [italics added] People who answer in the affirmative would need to answer why he is a must on current form.

Thanks for the breaking news.  This is to his fan boys who think without him India will be struggling in LOIs which is clearly not the case.
