Its t20s that he doesn't belong in. As a batsman, I think its not unreasonable to give him some slack in ODI cricket for sure. My issues have been with his glaringly obvious sub-par leadership of the Indian batting unit in ODI cricket and to some extent T20. Even in ODIs, with 2 new balls, it is closer to T20s. hence, to a large degree, the same reasoning applied to T20s also carries over to ODIs IMO.

And you never know, he might rediscover his groove in the format that he was always best at. Not saying he will, just that ODI slack is arguably reasonable. Simply no fair argument in T20 though. ThirtyD. Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 (edited) Questions have to be asked off BCCI administration. Ganguly whole lot of good when he was elected BCCI’s president but has delivered nothing but offering positions within Indian cricket to his friends (Dravid, Laxman etc.). Less said about Indian selectors the better. They keep picking tried and tested failures over and over again as if India is a country with only 25-30 people and they have no option to look elsewhere. Indias next series is a classic example of this. Dhawan who should not be in the squad, let alone playing XI has been given the responsibility of captaining against WI side who just got whitewashed by BD. So, what are chances this thigh slapper averages 40-50 with a modest strike rate here? What is the vision here? India has to be the most boring side to watch and I am really surprised people actually turn up to the ground to watch this bore fest. Edited July 17, 2022 by ThirtyD.
