He has at least cost us a series win in SA and an ICC tournament win with his outdated rubbish. They took arguably the greatest number 3, pushed him to open and dropped an opener who strikes at 160. Couldn't agree more! The guy who can fast track someone like SKY in Tests over Sarfaraz Khan, or SKY over Rinku in ODIs, KS Bharath over Jurel, Avesh Khan over Harshit, Dube over Rinku, and backed TTFs such as Jadeja & Chahal without backing any of our youngsters like Jaiswal, Abhishek, Parag etc.

 

He has shown himself to be a very poor judge of talent, and with the WC 2023 final fiasco has shown he's more Inspector Clouseau than Sherlock Holmes. Plus his meek demeanor and negative, defensive attitude rubs on the team. He's more KL than Pant.

Kohli's captaincy and performance in Tests has mirrored his performances in other formats. All those maces but when it came to WTC - the championship final - he flopped as usual. He has had 4 chances in WTC (batted both innings in 2 WTC finals), and not a single decent performance. He can't cross the finish line, and we've seen it so many times - IPL, WT20, ODI WC, WTC etc. He falls at the last hurdle consistently and there's more than enough data at this point.

 

And his fans deflect it to blame bowlers, other batsmen, and newbies. They ignore the fact that Kohli's supposed to be the "King" leading the batting and has been playing for for more than 1.5 decades now. Obviously, he'll need to step up. If Kohli is only there for group stages and others are expected to step up in knockouts, then give up your premium spot as batting is easier for Top 3 where they get the most time to settle in, and play during PP when there are no outfielders. Plus on most flat pitches, it's even easier to bat upfront as hard new ball comes on to the bat much better. You can't take up best batting positions (top 3 in white-ball, and no. 4 in Tests), pretty much do as you please, and then not show up when it really matters.
