Why are the current selectors and management obsessed with "eggsperience"?

India was just outgunned by opposition. Not like our team was on par with Windies or Australia. They simply bounced us out. I was talking about winning matches after getting to final, semi final instead of totally surrendering like we did against NZ.

That is why I said 2007 and 2013 all things fell in place.

But we had  more of less same player ands same captain why were not able to compete to even reach semis. They got beat by all teams in 2009 in second round with the same captain.

Yes same players doesnt mean you win everything.

No one expects current team to win everything too. However its the losses that are constant.

But you still have to beat strong sides like SA/Australia/Pakistan to win. Only match we lost was against NZ.  You can't fluke your way through to final and win it. India has done well as under dogs mostly. Also good bowling attack, good fielding unit. Good finishing skills.  Yuvraj twice finished well. Rohit finished well twice.  Aggressive openers. They were all in decent nick. That is the key. Jaddu joined us after that world T20. Rest is history.

They are consistently reaching to all knockouts except last world t20. They are doing most things right, they are just not having luck go their way in knockouts and they lacked players who could lend balance which is the case even today..

If it did not rain against Australia in 2012 world t20 match, India was reaching knockouts there also.India would have been favorites to win it all with their spinners on those pitches. But that rain during second innings changed everything.

It happens to teams, WI was the most dominant team even in 1980s but they never won world cup in 1980s.To win a world tournament you need some luck as team too.

Doing well in league phases is completely different from knockouts. There's lot more breathing space.

Rain is weak excuse the way we got obliterated. We got beaten by SA too in 2012 in a must win game.

There were 2 WCs in 80s and Windies reached finals in 1. That's lot different that current lot's record.

Falling to left handers repeatedly in clutch games is not really luck. It is a weakness. Moment the bowler brings the ball back in they succumb. Second of all India's middle order and lower order batting was wuss in the 2000s. Rohit himself saved us batting down the order twice in 2007 world cup.

Amir vs India CT final 17/3

Amir vs India  Asia cup 8/3 Kohli saw us through with the help of Raina as we chased only 85

Boult vs India  twice

Shaheen vs India

Two parts here. One  india dramatically collapses frequently in crunch games. Two indian middle order fell short in each occasion.

India is the only team to reach knockouts in all formats since 2013 CT till 2021 world t20.They have won most matches too.

Rain was not an excuse as far as captain Dhoni is concerned. India depended on their spinners to deliver knockout punch but they failed , that match showcases Dhoni's captaincy in nutshell total control when spinners take over the match and look clue when they cannot do anything. No they won against SA , go and look the scorecard again.

Current lot are doing lot of things right.

Every team and every batsman has weakness. It is the matchups which decide the knockout matches.,Who knows how things would have turned if India plays their innings on the same day against NZ in 2019.

Does India lack players who are gritty ,answer is yes. How do you find those players is the question.

If you are top team, you are almost assured of reaching KOs. What's Australia's record? That's the frustration actually, despite being top team, we boss league phases and choke in knockouts, Can't just be bad luck in 8-9 editions. We are becoming SA like  chokers

We won T20 WC 2007 on back of our pacers. We just batted badly. Yes we won vs SA but feels like a loss since we didnt win by enough margin. My mistake.
