At some point, you have to become a senior. Pant has played 50 T20s, he is not emerging player or anything.

It's not about position. He failed in IPL too. Heart says he should get more chances but I am tired of expecting his comeback.

its not about Pant but current top 3.

 

if Pant doesnt work, sure drop him but replace him with someone new instead of going back to those who already failed.

 

Its just that there's a chance he can find his correct approach at opening if he does it for few games continously. If not we can always try someone else.

people have worked him out in t20s, just bowl very wide outside offstump. in tests, he is still fine since he can pick his shots and play dot balls

50 T20 matches is large enough sample size. Why the heck TM is hell bent of making Pant a T20 cricketer.

 

He is an assert in ODI and test. So use him there.

he was poor in ODIs too before improving

that can be worked upon. 

 

Also think he needs a break. Plays every game in all formats

is not a regular in T20s, and has been rested on occasion in LOIs. he has big issues in LOIs. better sticking to tests

he is a regular in T20s and LOIs.Was even captain for home series v SA

 

Sure does rest 2-3 games here and there but I'm talking about extended break
