One of the poorest year for team building perspective. Mind boggling random changes. Random captaincy choices. As many as 8? Persisting with oldies across the formats which proved to be costly for India.

• Lost Test Series in South Africa, series was 1-0 became 1-2
• Lost Decisive Test in England, series was 2-1 became 2-2
• Did not reach final of T20 Asia Cup
• Did not reach final of T20 World Cup
• Lost ODI series vs Bangladesh 1-2 (not that important, however India should not be losing to Bangladesh)

Horrendous year with multiple captains, players resting, injured or out of form. Also could have drew the Test series in Bangladesh, luckily India escaped that humiliation. Winning useless bilateral ODI and T20 series.

 

Let's hope 2023 is a great year for Indian Cricket by winning both WTC Final and 2023 ODI World Cup.

Worst year for Indian cricket since 2012, and that is just in terms of results.

 

At least 2012 set the path for change in personnel, with many oldies making way for young blood by early 2013, a year which saw us win the CT and start our home dominance streak (plus fight in SENA starting with S).

 

I fear things will only get worse in 2023.

bound to get worse since all the oldies and hangers-on are going nowhere.
