Most of our other LOI pacers either lack pace and get hit in bigger matches or lack death bowling skills. Just use him directly only for wc. No need for bilaterals.

Lone Wolf Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 (edited) Ironically he looked his best version in T20 format... He should be forced off after that dreadful inns in Cape Town test... When he scored 20 odd from 140+ balls. Historic match losing inns. Guy was not able to play a single square cut & Saffers kept bowling him short of good length & no drive able balls. Bumrah also have tendency to choke in bigger matches and no balls, if he's in form then he can play ODI WC this year but surely not after that. Shami is already bowling slower, don't want Bumrah as well to loose his sharpness by playing all 3 formats.

Rahane used the same strategy to keep his Test career afloat despite giving mediocre returns for years, Pujara and Kohli are continuing the same tradition.

Tyagi, Umran, Sen and Mohsin are good candidates. Vijy and singhvivek141 1 1

Tyagi should have been in the setup right after the U-19 WC, but his progress is delayed by 2-3 years (partially due to Covid and later due to reluctance by our mgmt), now him along with Mohsin are lost in wilderness. Sen and Umran are at touch and go distance. One of them need to have a breakthrough IPL to get noticed. express bowling 1

Rahane from 2020 averages 24, Kohli 26 and Pujara in 30. But on SM they enjoy a demi god status and they keep on getting chances courtesy of 1-2 decent inngs in every test series. Rahane is milking that 100 for a long time, remove that 100 and his average will come crashing to 20's. Vijy and speedracer 1 1

Don't want him but if I have to pick one idiot of the 3 then I will go with puju bhai.

Should he be dropped or continue to play next series ? That depends on the relative scores. If the series is a low scoring one, then yes otherwise no.. singhvivek141 1
putrevus Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Kohli should have played Ranji trophy for Delhi, him skipping SL odis series should not be big deal.He was always going to be fine in whiteball cricket. He is a big liability in test cricket he neither can play spin nor can play fast bowling. He was a joke in Bangladesh. If Jaidev could play for his Ranji team why is Kohli not doing the same for Delhi.
