One obvious way to counter Bassball is to have more ODI like fields - guess what format was Sehwag the worst one? If the pitch is flat I'd like 4-5 fielders on the fence, 2-3 saving singles & 2-3 in catching positions, make those in/out fields standard if Eng is looking to score at 5+ throughout the innings! It might work, it might not but I'd bet it'd be the best counter to their *ing strategy :om:

Problem is when ball gets old they will get whipped hard. They are poor flat pitch bowlers. All of them. Wood is decent in flat wickets.

Lol no...  Anderson Ollie managed to get the reverse in Pakistan.  Anderson bowled a superb match winning spell in Chennai.

These guys are much better than likes of Southee Boult...  & so far looks like even Cummins & co in Subcontinent.

Anderson has his legacy fulfilled...  India & Pakistan were final frontiers for him & he delivered 2012, 2021-2022).. Anyways Next test pitches were doctored minefields.  A pacer had no use there anyways when Root was taking a 5 for.

Olly Stone & Archer/Wood?  or Ollie Robinson or Jamie Overton might be around when next test tour is.

India will prepare spinning decks so Poms would need few good spinners in the class of Panesar or Swann to think about a win.
