peak smith was technically very sound too. unorthodox and ungainly yes, but still a very safe batter.

 

root has still shown some issues vs bounce, e.g., record in Oz. sacchu didn't have that issue to the same extent.

It has been tragic fall for Kohli in Test cricket since the turn of this decade and we are into 4th year.

If you want to find parity with another sport, one could consider the Big 4 in tennis during the last decade. Kohli is the equivalent of Andy Murray.
