It's really sad. Kind of reminds me of comnor McGregor decline. 

 

Mike tyson had a dip after he became famous and rich. He went to jail which caused his skills to deteriorate. But he only lost to the very best after he declined. 

 

Kohli's steep decline is just unheard of. It's truly shocking.

I dont know how. Could say mahela too. I never knew mahela averaged 49. I know flat track era but he never struck me as a 49 average level player

Yes, same as Mahela. Both good captains also. Performed in ICC knockouts. Dominants at home.

 

Samaraweera is well behind. Not in the league of those two.

This is how I view the Fab 4:

 

Stewie: most run-hungry and ruthless, also best temperament

Root: most complete game

Kane W: most intelligent at maximizing resources & avg

Brat: most ego and drive (this can be both good and bad thing)

Root is by far the best player to watch in the Fab 4 on a technical level. Very much an heir to Sachin in that aspect
