2023-2025 WTC CYCLE

Recommended Posts

South Africa has the easiest schedule and should make the final easily.
- will not play the top two teams- England and Australia
- will play home series vs India, Pak, SL
- will play away series vs WI, BAN, NZ
- All are 2 test match series

Can't get more perfect than this.
This also means it will be most probably South Africa vs one of England, Australia or India.

Personally I would want South Africa vs England Final.

SA vs Eng seems most likely IMO. Eng usually has the measure of SA, even in SA conditions. should be a win for them

What's the point really...

Most of them are looking like they will be force retired after the world cup.

All it takes is a bad defeat against Pak in WC which breaks the streak for Rohit, Kohli and the old timer gang to be force retired.

This is why Dhoni is the smartest Indian cricketer ever. He saw this day coming a while back and handed Kohli captaincy and still played for a few years absolving all responsibility.

Test cricket requires passion and focus for all days. You cannot bring in T20 players and expect magic from them.

We discarded so many performers who had the spark like Karun Nair after his 300, Kuldeep Yadav after MOTM performance etc.

I don't think Pant will ever be the same again once he comes back. Cricket is evolving fast now and without match practice for 2 years, he will not be international level player again.

We are all blaming Dravid but just look at the reality of team selection. Not a single first class dominating player in the side. Why even have the Ranji system if you will not play them even against minnows like WI, BAN etc.

Zero long term planning on what happens once the top players retire.

At least Dhoni had foresight and gave unlimited chances to Jadeja, Pandya, Kohli, Rohit even when they failed in the first couple of years of their career as he understood future planning. Otherwise Gambhir, Sehwag and the like would have played another 4 years like what's happening now.

Brat and rohit will not be retired even after big loss vs Pak.
