Scotland is in transition at the moment, lost 2 experienced top 5 bats plus English counties refuse to release our opening bat and two opening bowlers unless it's a world cup .  Michael Leask plays for my local club  ( was contract to Somerset ) and when he is on song he plays like that but not consistent enough .

on what grounds is that allowed. Scottish players don't come under the ECB, how can counties stop players from representing their countries in WC qualifiers?

It happens every time , the counties must release full member players when selected by their country but not associate players , just another reason we( associates ) play with one arm behind our backs . Another win against a full test nation which is supposed to enhance your cause to full status not that any associate wants to play test cricket just odi and T20 but it doesn't seem to have any effect at all with icc .

It is criminal Van Meekeran wasn't picked in IPL over him...  He is probably finest Dutch & associate pacer going around.

Isn't this WC? Literally the first round of wc to qualify for the main event.

Obviously not 

The three players are playing for their counties in The Blast , not the first time this has happened or with the same players but at a World Cup they are available for selection

I find this extremely selfish and stupid from the counties, holding back players like this. Wtv chance they had to qualify for the main event will dry up without main players

ICC should make a ruling like FIFA and UEFA that players must be released for international duty .

Scotland are playing against more test nations in qualifiers now than ever before but ICC don't care because they think less chance of an upset and an associate team like Scotland qualifying for main world cup

Qualifiers should count as WC match. This is the preliminary stage before the main event.
