WI could have taken down a few teams like Pakistan for example on a flat track and given a proper fight against most teams but their replacement Zimbabwe would be a complete no contest against the other sides in the WC. Windies get punished for their lack of professionalism. They already got kicked out from WT20, 2022 edition.
Strangering Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 I'm not surprised about USA team's performance. USA Cricket has a toxic under current. Having played some league cricket here, I know that a bunch of nobodies act like they're Steve Smith and Pat Cummins. The politics involved in such low talent pool is the worst. USA will never be a half decent team unless 1. they import overseas players and get them eligible, 2. Somehow magically/miraculously local American talent gets involved in Cricket.

From team selection to players not willing to put the maroon uniform but will put on wtv uniform in t20 leagues, it is what it is. Zim is playing absolute cracker cricket here. If they go through, they fully deserve it

The players don't take T20 commitments for WI seriously let alone ODI format. They are essentially T20 mercenaries plying cricket to make money as opposed to loyalty to their country. West Indies is a functional tag anyway as the team is made up of Islands which are countries in their own right
