One of the objectives of Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy is to find players for the Indian test team. The other objective is to win matches.

If State teams and Zonal teams are choosing all 11 players for meeting their short term goals then how will we find good test bowlers ??

Whether Indians care about pace or not, if they are objective in their thinking, they should be able to observe that Gaja, Seth, Koushik, Nagasswala type pacers will never do well in international cricket.

So what is the plan to develop good international level.pacers ????

to just leave it to chance

India aint know for pace bowling ,so no state team does that ,

Bumrah, Shami and Ishant, with Ishant replaced later by Siraj, and Umesh as backup, proced one of the finest pace attacks from 2018 to 2022.

They were both effective as well as exciting to watch.

This should have brought in a change in bowling culture and people should have believed that we can produce top pacers.

Sorry I don't believe in gifting somebody a place in zonal side.Umran if he wants to play FC he has to be serious and should be playing regular FC cricket before he is selected for zonal side.

Rana , let us see what he does, he is playing for India A and he is young.

How can anyone be valuable in tests outside India if he has no experience in putting his body thru rigors of FC.Umran has to play more FC for his state and then only should be considered for Zonal cricket, still he played Irani trophy last year.

Mukesh Kumar played in the same Irani trophy with Umran and Kuldeep and was MOM , he is in now in WI.

I saw their bowling, Mukesh was useful with the new ball in morning conditions, he was bowling floaty stump to stump deliveries and rest ball did the talking. Credit to him he was super accurate.

Once the ball lost shine, Vihari removed him from the attack and used Sen and Saurabh from both ends while Umran was used in short bursts.

Sen was trying too hard on every ball, hence we went for runs, but he kept on bowling jaffa after jaffa and brought life out of the pitch even with the old ball during afternoon heat. Most of the runs which Sen leaked were against left handed batters when he was trying too much.

Umran had a simple plan, he was trying to bowl short and into the ribs of the batters followed by a fast fuller delivery. He was only used for 3-4 over spells by Vihari and hence he never dropped his pace.

Whenever Mukesh was used with old ball, he looked pedestrian and lower order batters played him with ease in comparison to Sen or Umran.

Mukesh's speeds were in 128-132 range, Sen was bowling in 136-141, Umran was in 142-146. The speeds were shown very occasionally.

See under Kohli, Bhuvi was used as horses for courses and he did very well, so there is no harm in having out and out swing bowler IMO.Swing will get many batsmen out in the world.I am not saying Mukesh is Bhuvi.

Sen bowled quite a few at 143 k to 147 k and Umran touched 150 k.

The epeeds you stated were in the first spell.
