India has good chance of finishing 4th behind china Japan korea. Iran and Uzbekistan will be competition for us for 4th spot.

For us, our ladies do a lot of lifting in fetching medals. 

They always dominate Greco-Roman wrestling. That is their sport. Plus they do well in Judo/Taekwondo/Karate which have a few medals. Freestyle wrestling has too many competing countries.

 

If our shooters live up to their reputations - we would sail past them. Unfortunately they don't.

No chance. 

 

Uzbek is a lock in for 4th spot because of Kurash. That is their martial art and they usually sweep those medals. Plus they are pretty good in Boxing, Wrestling and a few other sports.

Hamare shooters Paris mein phir se hagenge. Not that confident about our wrestlers as well (this stupid 'sexual assault' controversy didn't help matters), Sindhu too has declined massively. Not very optimistic tbh, we are good in more events now than ever before but Olympics is another level, also tests mental toughness unlike any other sporting event on this planet.

Hockey mein we beat Uzbeks 17-0 and Singapore 16-1. 

 

Next one will be challenging, Japan held us to a draw in recent ACT group game, but we smashed them badly in the SF.

The one where they held us to a draw we played very badly. As the #3 ranked team in Hockey they should not be a problem... much like the volleyball teams switched.

Lakshya Sen and Prannoy and our Men's doubles teams have stepped up. Should win a couple of medals in Badminton for sure.

 

However, other than Neeraj Chopra - don't see any other gold prospects. Maybe Nikhat Zareen and Preeti in boxing?

IMO we should beat Iran and Taipei this time. Indonesia will be nowhere close to where they were last time.

15 Medal so Far including 4 medals on Day 3 ( 1 Gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze) so far....

 

Hope we better our performance than last Asian games where we got 16 Gold ( and total 70 medals)

20 Gold and 80 total medals will be sweet spot this time!!

They won 14 gols in Pencak Silat which is their martial arts that is not included in the program this time. Neither are Paragliding/Jetskiing in which they won 3 golds as well

All the names which you wrote are superstars. Great medal prospects...some hopefuls will always always be there in light to medium weight freestyle wrestling ... chirag and satwik in badminton doubles, men's hockey...

If she was wearing a more suitable attire for sports, the match could have been a little closer.... regarding body shaming, that i exclusively do only of our Indian people: sportsmen, politicians, other public figures ... ;)

She really did look out of place tbh. She didn't need to wear such a bad fitting abaya. There are sports abayas available. Btw regardless of what she wore she was no way comparable to the 15 yr old Anahat.

 

Also she didn't look like or play like an athlete. Reminded me of the fun ppl made of the Somali lady who took 20 s to finish a 100m race. In the Asian Games this is very odd. After the Worlds and Commonwealth games this is probably the 3rd most prestigious Squash title to own. 

 

That said Joshna Chinappa who played after is older than her and yet looks like an athlete.

Joshna is great granddaughter of field marshal Cariappa, very fit for a 37 yo as you said, and if I may add, very attractive looking as well!!
