Boobi is out of reckoning and shouldn't be the benchmark now.

 

And as you said, can't pick a pure swing bowler even in tests in England and NZ these days. Those pitches flatten out in the 2nd innings.

didn't mean current useless boobi, but the one who played in eng and did a good job years ago. NZ, Eng are flat-tish nowadays, SA and Aus require bounce. and SC requires reverse swing (not classical swing) + pace.

nice article on Punjab's championship run... BTW for the newer folks, Avishkar Salvi (current Punjab coach) was once hailed as Indian McGrath and injuries prevented him from playing in India's overseas tours

Frankly the way 3 pure pacers have done in this WC , I would prefer to have Bumrah, Siraj  & Mayank/Prasidh.... Out & Out attacking wicket taking bowlers. That would be the  best option i think. 

I would not put Harshit /Hangu in the league of above pacers at present in 50 overs for the 3rd pacer slot.

For this to happen Hardik has to really step up as a batter, who knows if SKY shines at KO stage in this WC , everyone will root for 6 pure batters and 

rely on Tilak/ Jaiswal to fill in only when needed.

6 Proper bats & 5 proper bowlers looks the most potent combo with at least 1 batter who can fill in some overs when needed.    

 

One workaround may be ,play 6+5 combo vs top teams and against rest , go for 2 pure pacers & 8th spot for pacer who can bat like Harshit/Hangu + 2 spinners . 

Re: Batter who can bowl, i feel Tilak will be one who will be ahead of all others among pure batters.   

Tilak is a must for me among 5 batters by 2025.  Am not including VK as it is my wish list . But know he will be there

Good..i would prefer one more pacy bowler AR for SENA countries though..Harshit Rana/Hangarekar/Mohsin khan if they are fully fit and groomed..as Hardik wont bowl more than 5 overs for me..considering his injury issues..he will be my 4th pacer..

Sai sudharshan would be better than some of these players like shreyas. he has the game to build at no. 3. Tilak is a must, will bowl 3-4 overs and fulfill 6th bowler

 Only major ICC torney is Champions trophy in 2025 which is in PAK or may be moved to UAE. I had that in mind when selecting 2025  team for ODI.

 But yes , we should have 4+1 Combo in Sena

Forget him for now, he is not good batter and with his current state of fitness, he is going down Pradeep Sangwan's route with all the muscles around the pot belly area....he may have to be dragged out of the ground  on a supersopper after bowling 4-5 over.
