Most likely its down to drug trade. People of Punjab need to understand how dynamics is changing. Are there elected leaders so pathetic that all they are getting back is Gang War, Khalistani hijacked Farm protest, blocking of Railway and Road network to create problem to supplies for Indian forces in specific Border areas (Laddakh). Sikh are specifically respected by Hindus in rest of India (North South together) and Sardarjis have a aura they carry when among people of rest of India. I think criminal cases are very limited compared to Bimaru states. It's pretty safe in Punjab compared to Delhi. Same in Haryana... It might be little worse than Punjab when it comes to overall crime but decent enough. Punjab HP UK are three best states to live in North India when it comes to overall safety.
