Washington sundar has improved a lot as a bowler. I have seen in a few domestic matches. He also has a very good defensive line of attack that is needed on flat tracks.

He is better that shitdeep in LOI. 

If shortdeep went for some runs he will cower in shame and get smashed non stop.

Yes. he gives confidence that he can bat for long in case wickets fall. So it allows middle order batsmen to go aggressive.

That psychological aspect is overlooked. I would play Shardul Thakur over Mukesh kumar any day. Thakur can bat  as well.
