Also, he knows that he doesn't stand a chance to be captain in internationals because of the same reason. If he wants to fulfill any ambitions of captaincy, it has to be through IPL. Pandya can still bat if injury is minor so he can be in the XI and lead, Bumrah can't. Now even BCCI will intervene if his workload is too much as per reports. 2. Pandya doesn't have any test aspirations so before IPL in the test season he will be well rested. While Bumrah will still be coming off heavy workload from that season. 3.
