Yes he broke down, why don't you see when he was on song nobody looked comfortable against him

Single handedly won LSG those 2 games, sometimes you need to look at the strengths,he may not be a long format expert but certainly can comeback strongly and serve India in the other two formats

I would always use him in real short bursts that's where his strengths lie

You say we don't need bowlers with pace, then what else we should look for ?Rajat Bhatia kinds or bear the torcher of Avesh,Shardul,Harshal and their ilk

Right lets field a guy in India team who's known to breakdown frequently. I am assuming you don't want him to get fit, showcase he can remain fit, and only then should he be considered ? Guy bowled 10 decent deliveries in  a 48 ball spell, lets hold our horses.

BTW what to do with 1000s of trundling deliveries which cant win you a single match. Yadav played 3 matches and won 2 motm. Let me know any trundlers who ispite of playing all matches in this ipl won 2 motm.

We have always held our horses and they have eventually turned into impotent ones

Did I say play him straightaway? He has to recover and then comeback and display his fitness

You seem someone who is rather acting in haste to dismiss young pacers

He should not be lost in wilderness, will be our loss

No point on being stubborn and continuosly giving long rope to  talentless trundlers like the names mentioned above

Time, money and resources should be invested on guys like him to get them into good guidance and coaching

10 decent deliveries which has fetch me 6 wickets in 48 ball spell at an economy of around 6.

I would take such bowler right away.

There are some celebrated malnourished trundlers who are apparently "swing king" yet has taken less than 1 wickets per game and had leaked runs at an economy close to 10.

Buddy, i strongly urge you to re-read my first post. I pretty much wrote the same. Infact i even questioned why umran couldnt get a single game this ipl season. Also bit about India not wanting bowlers who are quick, that was my cynicism.

I understood your point,I was talking about the part where you looked like dismissing Mayank on his current fitness standard:wp54:

I know you want him to be strong enough ,let's wait how he handles this as he has come under radar and people are talking about him and sure he would want to comeback strong

i unfortunately have seen many so called "150" flash in the pan. Not many will remember but Irfan pathan in domestic was supposed to be real quick. We all know how it ended for him. Munaf was genuinely quick but was constantly injured. From VRV singh to Varun aaron. Am sure forgetting a few.  Even someone like Nehra had major injury problem. Nehra was not akhtar or bret lee but he was quick.

We should cherish till it lasts

We aren't sure about future, real quicks will always suffer major injury setbacks, people should make peace with it

There are Bumrah,Shami,Umesh,Ishant infact they did maintain their pace and infact increased with time

Now they are getting old ,sure we can't rely on them all the time ,we need to look for like for like replacements for them

While doing that we have to trust ability of these guys and make sure they get all the resources to maintain longevity and serve us and dominate world cricket (which we haven't)

Hope they rope in proper injury management plan for guys like him

Someone real good with slight tweaks in action without compromising on pace,

None of the bowlers you mentioned were 150k barring Varun Aaron in his younger years. You're talking as if India has produced 150k bowlers season after season :dontknow:

No,they shouldn't change anything just change the nationality

They won't get any opportunity here ,just leave at the earliest

they should go to bangladesh or SL if they don't want to go outside Asia. both countries are ready to accept and play 150 kph pacers. Did not name Pak for obvious reasons

None of them barring Aaron was 150+. Munnabhai hit 147-148 at peak, Nehra-ji was 149 but only once. Irfan didn't even breach 145 to the best of my knowledge. VRV was also high 140s.

Munaf, Nehra, Irfan and VRV all put together has bowled less than 1 ball at 150k/+. I remember Munaf Patel being all over the news for bowling one delivery at 147k in a List A match :giggle: That's how pathetic we were when it comes to pace! But suddenly some are getting nostalgic about how the 150k pacers were a flash in the pan in the past!

Umesh bowled quite a few deliveries over 150 in 2011/12 tour to Aus

True but they were all quick compared to 130s we had back then. Point was more about injuries to those who were ahead in terms of speed compared to then Indian bowlers. Where is Umran by the way ?

Umran is fit, but he is unable to break in to SRH.

Umesh was quick, but he kept his fitness on top and still is able to bowl 145k at this age in T20's. Shami & Bumrah are able to bowl quick even now.

Tyagi, Mayank, Sen all have maintained their pace. Sen & Tyagi are injury free for an year now..Harshit too has been injury free.

Yeah they were quick for Indian standards at that time. Isn't it a common phenomenon that quicker bowlers(No I'm not talking about Irfans Munafs VRVs and Nehras) are more injury prone? It's upto the management to manage their workload.

What about Umran? He isn't injured

So why not them over Mayank ? Harshit has been a huge find.

You clearly have never seen a 150 bowler of you think the names you mentioned were 150.
