Maybe a 6 month affair with most of the games during weekends. Fans who are mostly interested in international cricket might find it boring but there is a very strong fanbase for most of the IPL teams. Many of them are already sad that IPL this year is getting over. They don't seem to get enough, especially the high scoring games Austin 3:!6 1

The longer India goes without winning a ICC trophy the more grounds BCCI have to expand the IPL

They are forced to root for one of these teams. Many are attached some teams because of big stars. Once they retire there won't be any attachment. For them international matches are bigger. I suspect BCCI also plays a role in MSD prolonging his IPL career. Rohit is washed up. KOhli may play for another 5 years for RCB
