If we have to credit someone for change in our odi cricket fortunes, majority of it goes to Yuvraj. He came with that terrific fielding skills, ability to hit effortless sixes outside of powerplay. He had somesort of aura  in our team which Dhoni magnified 10x with CSK

Using Umesh logic, Kohli shouldn't have played the recent T20 WC final, because he failed in group game in Barbados (against Afg), venue of final. 

The difference between Kohli and Umesh . Kohli was due to perform and Umesh was due to fail.

 

India has beaten Pakistan batting second also many times. That was not the deciding factor in the loss in that finals.
