mani sha Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 He is not street smart . Rinku singh in short formats - I would like to see him captain. Other candidate is pant . Takes to the opposition .

Bumrah is much better than the above two, I am ready to put my bet on Jaiswal, he is way more street smart than Gill & Pant.

One of them is : How shockingly poor pant has been with the bat throughout the tournament. He fluked 40 odd runs against Pak in which there were 2 dropped catches and 1 catch which landed between 2 fielders. Played Okayish knock of 20 and 25 against BD & Afghan. But that's all. He failed against every top team (Aus, Eng, SA) when we needed him to score badly.

Make him open instead Frustrated 1
Norman Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 We are trying to manufacture a Kohli out of him just like the Paxtanis did with Barbie Azam. Both are not leadership material and have meek timid body languages. And the less we talk about the batting acumen the better. Looks like it will likely be Shreyas or Pandya for the long term in white ball cricket and Kela for Tests.

They need to find someone who is marketable for their project. 1) has to either have looks or charm via talking 2) good physique for getting adds promoting fitness brands etc 3) has to be flashy/dress well etc. 4) needs to stat pad. So the player can claim to be the best of his generational despite being nothing but a stat ladder in reality. 5) has to lead from the front. As captain he has to be the bets player in the team. Number 1
cricketfan28 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Better to focus on his batting for now .. have to incorporate power game, both odi and t20 will need that on pattas

kosingh Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Gill would be a Babar Azam type captain. Similar leadership vibes. No thanks.
