I feel a completely seperate staff for red ball coaching is the need of the hour. They should be given the responsibility of rebuilding. 

They should be keeping eyes on domestic cricket and A tours, providing coaching to red ball players during these white ball tournaments.

With so many white ball tournaments in the calendar year will not leave any time for a single coaching staff to work on red ball team.

That'll happen next but I don't see it much of an issue as he doesn't have the PR and influence anywhere close to Rohit & Kohli. He was already dropped for MCG Test and once the oldies are taken care of, he would be the next in line.
