Why would Indian govt care about PR or Optics for a cricket tournament, this is not going to hurt them geopolitically with any country because no country would care. As far as US is concerned, no not all countries are aligned with US on Russia/Ukraine, Two things, US does what it wants do, can anyone do anything about it, even if they want to ? The same US has no problem with Isreal killing Women and Children in Palestine, in fact they are happy supplying weapons to Isreal. How many countries are willing to stand against US, even the most influential countries in ME like SA and UAE, do they really care or have the ability to do something ? Second no one cared when US went on rampage after 9/11, when they bombed the hell out of Iraq, most countries raising their voice in Russia/Ukraine is not because civilians are dying, they are making a noise is because this time the civilians are white. Look at India's issues with Canada, Indian govt doesn't care about Canada, because Canada has no leverage, they are more or less irrelevant, but Indian have has no issues cooperating with with US in the investigation. The same goes for what China is doing with Uyghurs, does even Pakistan raise its voice against it ? This is the problem with South Asia we are too deep with corruption and countless no. of issues that stops us from development, If Pakistan did not give so much powers to Military and ISI and allowing terrorism to fester, thinking it won't hurt you, forget Cricket it's a small thing in the bigger picture, there are deeper issues like economic collapses wouldn't have happened, and nobody can push you over. The fact is, this is how the world works, the more powerful you are the more you can get away with things. In an ideal world ICC would go ahead without India, but in reality that would never happen. Absolutely! I agree that it is really just an extension of the BJP’s policy to isolate Pakistan, not something that’s in the BCCI’s hands. My point isn’t whether India *can* do this—it’s more about how it looks and if it is effective. When Russia was banned from the Olympics, there was a lot of global support, so it didn’t look bad. But if India’s the only team playing its games in the UAE over security concerns, it’s going to come across as pretty awkward. And when you think about U.S. actions post-9/11 or its support for Israel, they kept going, but at a cost to their global reputation. India might face a similar PR issue and it’s already losing the moral support on the issue, which will look even more foolish and absurd when Indian team will be sitting alone in some UAE hotel while the whole cricketing world will be in Pakistan. It weakens the argument of security He is 1 VVIP with Z+ security moving around in highly sanitised environments on a 1-2 day visit to 1 city which is not a fair comparison with the cricket team which will be travelling to 3 different cities for 3 games till the knock-out phase and 1-2 game(s) more if the team progresses further. I get the claim stating that this is political posturing, but if the Govt doesn't give BCCI clearance. The team cannot travel. To add to the rumours Who knows, maybe Jaishankar's trip had a mini work item pencilled for his staff to assess RAAAAA inputs for the Cricket team's CT visit. Smart Indians might want to ask why their government’s stance doesn’t have broader global support. If Pakistan were truly this dangerous, bloodthirsty place portrayed in Bollywood and the media, why isn’t anyone else on board? Also, it’s not exactly "good for Pakistan." Pakistan’s about to host a major cricketing party, and obviously it’s a downer when one team’s off in the UAE, sulking like the grumpy uncle at a party—upset because they didn’t get to pick the movie. It’s a poor look for India and the event overall.

The other countries don't share the border with a failed country and are not affected so they don't care. Unlike NATO etc India doesn't have a alliance with australia, England etc so they have no worries about security of Indians. First class Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 All terrorist groups are sponsored by some enemy country , same is the case with terror groups active in Baluchistan and KPK, India should have no security threats from the terror groups on its pay role, it doesn't make any sense. Its ISI vs RAW match.

India toured Pak in early to mid 2000s and invited Pak players in IPL. We got "Hunduon ki zehniyat" and 26/11 in return. Never again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. In fact India already has been way more lenient. IMO all cricketing tours should've been stopped after the Parliament attack in early 2000s. To me that was even a bigger incident than 26/11, and we should've drawn a line in the sand then. There'll be some fools in India who'll be eager to preach "let bygones be bygones" or "let's start afresh". But we've seen majority of Pak folks think when they utter crap like "Islam ki jeet" or "hinduon ke beech namaaz" or "dushman mulk". And none of these were uttered by ignorant people but by the so called educated folks. I'm glad majority of Indians don't want anything to do with Pak coz the reality is more like harboring known terrorists like Dawood Ibrahim or 26/11 perpetrators than what they say. There's a reason Osama Bin Laden had settled down in Pakistan as it's the safe haven for terrorists, and I for one wouldn't like Indian team to tour such a country. India not going to Pakistan has nothing to do with parliament attack or any such attacks. We played several bilaterals even in Pakistan after kargil and parliament attack. This step is only for players safety.

Sharjah-Harjah Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 (edited) Anyway, its strange the ignorance of some of the posters. India’s specific demands from Pakistan include prosecuting terrorist leaders (like Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar), shutting down terrorist organizations such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and preventing cross-border terrorism. To address these demands, Pakistan has taken several actions, such as arresting Hafiz Saeed and sentencing him on terrorism financing charges, officially banning groups like LeT and JeM, and strengthening anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing frameworks to comply with FATF requirements. In response, FATF removed Pakistan from its grey list in 2022. And the world has acknowledged the improvements with the ICC event happening in 3 months. But obviously, Pakistanis cannot make Bollywood movies showing these improvements and changes, nor can they can intimidate and buy out the Indian media to push their narrative. There is nothing ignorant about it, the present generation don't give 2 hoots about Pakistan. The generation which saw the so called partition of 1947 is long gone, hence the stories of how we were brothers is fading day by day. India is an economic and military power, and it knows that Pakistan is just a Non performing asset. Any help given to them is just going to end up negatively. In comparison, South East Asian countries like SG, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam have much more positive attitude towards India and it's people. The cultural ties too are there which leads them to be an overall favourable partner. India and Pakistan are very much different now culturally. Simple question, tell me what does Pakistan can bring on the table to India ? What can Pakistan offer to India to build up the ties....the answer is "Shoonya", "Zero", "Anda", "Zilch", "Baigan".

Yeah, so why dont PCB go and ask for answers from ICC ? Why do they expect BCCI to answer to them ? BCCI will communicate with ICC, PCB don't need to interact directly.
