Kamal Haasan and his movie 'Thug Life' stoked controversy in Karnataka after actor reportedly stated "Kannada is born out of Tamil" at an event in Chennai.

Already posted in the South Cinema thread. It was an of-the-cuff not malicious remark, being politicized by Kannada Politicians and road side goondas who blacken Hindi signboards

 

 

Tamil and Kannada are both sister languages, born out of a common root language with words borrowed from each other. And Tamil is not the oldest language as Modi says
