coffee_rules Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Goi has mandated ethanol mixed fuel sold in all petrol bunks. Engines in India can only sustain E10 (10%) and only with special tuning up to 20%. Insurance companies and Engine Warranty refuse to cover any engine damage caused by ethanol mixing. Gadkari sons have stake in Ethanol production companies. Opposition is not protesting because they own huge farm lands and are pro-farmers who grow sugarcane (reducing the water table ) which is used to produce ethanol. Even corn based is used. Governments should first mandate engines to be flexible to sustain higher ethanol, before selling to people. In US that E10 sold will pass the cost savings to consumers . In India, petrol prices are same no matter what happens. They always go up!! Best option is to with E10 for now and gradually move to E27 which is the plan pkmmamks, Lord and Tillu 2 1
Lord Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Blatant corruption at the highest level. Godi media predictably not covering it. Opposition maybe having their own issues in this, but aam junta will support them if they raise this issue instead of making useless complaints about Op. Sindoor and ECI. It beggars belief how stupid they are
pkmmamks Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 He is saying show me a car which has a problem with ethanol. Either he is very cute or he thinks saamne waale bilkul hi anpadh hain
kepler37b Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 The damage to BS6 engines is minimal. The damage is primarily to the components that deliver fuel to the engine. They will need to be replaced periodically. This is what my petrol-head mech engineer friend says. BTW, we need to reduce reliance on the fossil fuel. Primarily as it's dollars fuel barbarism and islamic terrorism across the world. I am 50-50 on ethanol. mishra 1

It is the non-availability of other options is what is alarming people more than the damage. Insurance companies and warranty guaranteers are not helping the situation and are causing the panic among public. Lord 1

pkmmamks Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 Forget raising it as an issue, should this be implemented without providing an alternative to clean fuel or upgrading cars for compatibility
IndianRenegade Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 just give the people the option to chose a non-ethanol version, forcing it down ppls throats in't going to end up well. Lord 1
