Pretty strong field of many 85m throwers so can't say whether Neeraj will get gold for sure.

Sachin Yadav also qualified to the final, and a Sri Lankan dude. 4 of the finalists from South Asia, no one could have predicted this 10 years ago.

Reason I didn't follow women's Asia Cup is I have no hope from our women's side. Them not qualifying to Paris draw was the final straw. Too much infighting, not gelling with the coach or federation, worse than our women's cricket team. 

 

Saw that China blanked them 4-1 in the final. Chinese coach is an Aussie legend Alyson Annan (her ex-husband Caldas has been coach of Spain in recent years and reason behind their resurgence, before that he was Dutch coach when they eliminiated India in 2018 WC QF, a very good friend of Dilip Tirkey). HI wanted Annan to coach our women and she was even part of some of our training sessions 2-3 years ago, but players protested because of her strictness. Similar to how Harmanpreet and co. got Powar removed, main difference being Annan took Dutch women to GOAT heights just some years back.

Yes I think the current Chinese team is pretty good. They finished a narrow second to Netherlands in Olympics last year.

They were weaker than us 4-5 years back. Sudden massive improvement, no thanks to the best coach out there.

 

They frustrated Dutch girls so much in Paris final. Despite being much much inferior, they almost pulled off a miracle that day.

Even in Tokyo Olympics, we didn't see huge throws. Maybe 87 is a gold here.

This is why I prefer indoor athletics, no variance because of wind, humidity.
