LordPrabhzy Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/alzarri-joseph-ruled-out-of-india-test-series-with-lower-back-injury-1504925 So after Shamar, now Alzarri also 'ruled out'- its clear that these pacers think playing on spinning dustbowls is going to be a waste of a time. Holder has declined to play as a replacement. India will be playing a nearly an associate side- we didnt actually need Bumrah for this series, packing the team with any three spinners is fine.
Gollum Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 H2H vs West Indies is 23-30. Even in India we trail 13-14 They last won in India in 1994 (Mohali) courtesy Jimmy Adams. Their last series win against us was in 2002, 2-1 in WI (5 test series) Since then, we have played 25 tests, won 15, lost 0, 10 draws. At home 8 wins, 2 draws in 10 completed tests.
Gollum Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 West Indies still comfortably lead test H2H against India and England. Surprising stat considering their decline in the last 25 years.
Gollum Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 Surprising that we have better H2H against RSA than WI. NZ getting uncomfortably close, will be 22-18 this time next year, we built a nice edge against them before 80s when they were minnows....including a 3-1 win there when Pataudi was skipper.

WI smashed India in the old days a lot. India were always competitive vs SA at home (minus 2000) and even abroad managed to draw a match or two. Think we have never been whitewashed in SA away. New guy Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Pant will be missed. His quick scores on difficult pitches make a lot of difference
