G_B_ Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 I think these comments have been made before, but Pakistan declined in cricket and hockey in general as the sports became more professional. There was always reliance on "skill" and "talent". Many Pakistani cricketers still play a lot of T20 overseas. So i don't think exposure is the issue in that format. But they are still ranked 7th.... tapandrun 1

IN terms of talent pool they are their lowest point. No way in hell Haris is your best keeper in the country. I mean that guy would not find a spot in 5th division cricket teams in India as Cheeka said. tapandrun 1

Even there is no comparison between Jaiswal and Abhishek. As for Ayub he is not modern day t20 batter he may have better sr than most other pak batter but he is not special at this point he is ordinay to avg. (no disrespect but posting based on his intnl career), lets say he was paying smat, would you think an Ind domestic opener can make into IPL team unless they are v.special. Most IPL teams would have made some from mo to open and get a OS batter on the other end. Ques:: Do you think he is better than Rahul tripathi, Badoni, nitish rana etc in t20s??? As for will he be bought, yes it can happen mainly been seen as allrounder and be fringe player for IPL franchise. And if he was playing for some major domestic team. A lot goes in auctions, if there is some in the franchise who knows that certain player. Players like k. gautam, lalit yadav have been playing for yrs now without any contribution to the side. Its about if they play for some major domestic sides-- mubi, tn, kar, Del,Up, now pjb (yuvi is helping these player big time, he asked all pjb player to play all domestic season, and he also help them to get ipl contracts )else its hard they have to go through alot of those trials and hopefully some1 picks you and even to get the call for trials need to score runs in SMAT. Based on his intnl career so far what does he offer (other than being an allrounder)-- He does not offer stability nor does he offer explosiveness. for a top order batter Ind capped batters with good IPL records like Mayank Aggarwal are not getting picked. Heard there was comparison between another opener with Dravid/Williamson (forgetting the name). This is an inexpensive and cost effective way of market some, attach the name with something popular. For your comparison with padikal donot think he himslef would have made to ipl team if he was not from major domestic side and specially kar. His best format is Odis and he is okay for wht he offers nothing like nex. gen superstar. His intnl SR is 131 not sure if that would cut out to be a top-order batter now. So to answer if he was playing in smat would he be picked yes if playing for major domestic teams and no if not. If he was in IPL would he make it to top 3 of any playing 11 no, he may get some chance and then be benched. He has major issue with not able any shot right of the cover fielder and if he plays he often plays in air without ability to clear boundaries. It's just a simple yes or no question brother

Yeah and India had to invest a lot in hockey before making a comeback. Pak simply don't have that kind of funds.

But on face value sure he will be picked, LH batter who offers some allrounder capability. As some other poster said not the worst talent. those who say No , not even in Smat are just giving an emotional response. There are 40 domestic teams. And if some1 is at his level of skill sure would hope to get picked in IPL Edited October 2, 2025 by tapandrun

Yes but he wont be even fringe top oder Ind prospect. If he makes it to Ind team it would be like doing Deepak hooda again. And Hooda has been consistent run getter in Smat Edited October 2, 2025 by tapandrun
