Last year, kishan was regularly in 135-140 range, didn't watch much this year.

No response. I shared that during AUstralian series. But at that point he was largely unknown. SInce i watched it live he looked very different. He had that Neil wagner spirit. JUst short, short,, short. every ball until they caved in. FInished the test series with an average of 9 and 10 wickets.

One of the  attribute fast bowlers is the attitude. HE has plenty of it for a fast bowler. This Mapaka dude clocked  148k but batsmen were not hurried.  But this guy bowls heavy ball. Deceptively quick.

Comparing 2 diff. things. Mapakha was rushing batter in U19 Wc. He will rush them still as well.

 

Bowling 148 kmph in senior cricket is nothing new, batters can handle it specially when they know he is going to bowl alot of bad balls

 

here in U19 wc, batter were late to him

Yes I noticed DD in that Aus series..he was terrorizing the Aussies with accurate short pitched stuff.was so satisfying to see

I agree however what I hv noticed over the years..even in international cricket..

when a bowler bowls short pitch stuff/bouncers to batters..the whole world knows..he is going to follow up

with yorker or length ball..as psychologically they are in backfoot and literally too..

It often works..,providdd your short pitch stuff is nasty

may be its the last minute..quick arm speed..head falling away..I somehiw dont like it..I feel it may cause some loss in control..

These days batters are used to of playing 140 or early 140 kmph, now every1 can hook-or pull or ramp it.

Even the yorker zone has deceased with batter are more powerful and moves in the crease well.

 

Previously Ind batter used to take seasons to get adapt to IPL, now they are ready out of box 140-145 kmph does not worry them much. Yes 145+ becomes issue.

And at top level of intnl cricket only proper 150+ kmph worries them like what Umran did in his 2nd season or how Mayank did in those 2 games , Eng and Aus batter were running off and showing wkts

I am no expert though..just feel that way..

He has good left armer inswing. He can be effective if his pace increases.  Too young to make any judgement for future. Nothing extraordinary at the moment. Deepesh looks special.

Fair point but Tests is a different ball game..pun intended.. :D

whereas in white ball the mindset is primarly agressive for scoring..

Barring few(Head,Pant and Bazballers etc) in tests batters have somewhat defensive for scoring..partly in a shell mode

I feel the likes of Neil Wagner may still could hv caused trouble..its combination of pace+accuracy+bounce in my opinion

Will club Kumble, McGrath and Wagner in similar kind of package.

If some1 tell you there is a tall leg-spinner who does not turn the ball much but is accurate or there is a pacer does not swing/move ball much bowl at decentish pace but is accurate and there is another bowler not that fast bowls only bumpers would a coach pick these bowlers ?? -- high chances they would say no.

 

But these player were special and not many can emulate what they did so its not a right idea to keep them as bench mark
