Extra pace is gold at this level. Third pacer is a weak link too. Henil and Uddhav Mohan both didn't look impressive.

Ya..that will be ideal..we wish toh have even a good 3rd pacer but historically we only had that Prithvi Shaw’s team when all the pacers were good..so we will have to do with what we have

Lets not be too harsh on Mhatre and Suryavanshi.. they are very agressive openers..they will hit some day and will fail too…what they do is usually not done by others..they are X factors and can kill the match on their day..

For future..they have time on their side to grow and mature their batting…

They are followed by some classy players to provide stability like George,Vihaan,Trivedi..Kundu..

and finish off with AR hitters..

as posters said earlier the weak link is spin this time..hopefully Deepesh will help us with agressive bowling in middle overs to cover that gap..

I also hope Kishan gets some wkts upfront..

yea. This is nothing to do with choking. vaibhav gives chances even against minnow at the start. Just that they failed to hold on to the catch.  But once he escapes and gets flying he can be unstoppable. He just has to watch out for slow ball.  Also they don't have to go after every single short ball. If the ball is outside the off stump trying to pull it willr esult in a catch. They can play ramp.  Few decision making needs improvement. Otherwise they have the fearless attitude.

I feel..these Mhatres and Suryavanshis

know they are more than good for this level and batting more like in T20 mode..probably even considering it as a practice for upcoming IPL..

Its both good and bad at the same time..

Yup way too good for this level. So they are likely to take it easy.

Sigh, we chose to chase in another big final. You NEVER chase in a 50 over final unless it's a doctored pitch like world cup 2023.

2003 final, 2017 CT finals lost while chasing yet we never learn.

Pressure of chasing is going to be huge unless we can bundle out Pakistan for very low score. We should have put their batting under chasing pressure instead

Wrong decision and might cost us.

2003 was not a doctored pitch neither was 2017 CT

Yes and we lost big time. That's what I meant. You don't chase unless it's a doctored pitch like 2023. We chased in 2003 and 2017 and lost big time on non doctored pitches.

You should never ever chase in a big final in a 50 over game

I agree. The first 15 overs become key. We need wicket now.

Should have put Pak in to bowl

Dont understand the logic of chasing in final..the scoreboard pressure and used pitch may hold\spin more in 2nd half..

Or opening bowlers are ok..so they can be put under pressure..

What TM is thinking? May be they arent trusting bowling isnt good enough to defend total..

rubbish bowling so far..

When bowling is weak they should be saved from pressure. We do the opposite. Batting is strong and can withstand pressure.

So obvious solution is to bat first. But we put our weak blowing under pressure right away. Happened in 2003 exactly same with zaheer khan going to pieces.

We never learn our lesson not to chase in a big final.
