Akash NG is planned for Indusction by 2027....

Armenia and Phillipines probably are the countries where we may export. We also discussed with Brazil but not sure where it will end up with.

Vietnam, Thailand are other two options. Not sure if Cyprus/Greece will be interested due to US pressure. But getting inroads in Europe will be a massive win.

Pooks are selling their JF17 to Libya as well...  US is silent meanwhile.

Our market is usually Armenia, Filipinos.

Thai buy a lot of Chinese stuff so it's a tough market to crack.

Their rivals Cambodia might be a target audience for Akash Systems too.

US will always be silent or turn blind eye against Pooks, whatever mask they had created is now torn away by Trump.
We will trade due to obvious dependencies, but it's a good thing that Indian administration are now preparing for alternatives.
Indonesia is another partner where we can explore, Cambodia, theoretically can. But Thai's are a bigger market and they too want to pivot away from Chinks due to the extreme dependencies.
Sadly our Military Industrial Complex is yet to mature, and it's very laggard. LCH Prachand is still couple of years away and hence army is forced to procure new Apache helicopters. HAL is simply an incapable, inefficient and corrupt organization.

That's the reason they might be hesitant or won't go for Indian AD systems coz of systematic Integration problem.  IAF for example has has issues with S400 and Rafale working in tandem.  God knows how much French have taken from us for that alone.

Thai market is one of the biggest in SEA but as you said our own MIC isn't that mature yet to rival other major players.

It's great that India finally sees what US is all about after Trump came in. Others were the same but were "politically correct" whereas Trump says and does things without any pretense. Hopefully India has learned the lesson that they're by themselves and need to be independent. We should've learned the lesson in 99 during Kargil war when US disabled access to satellite navigation and GPS systems which led to development of NavIC. We've seen how Ukraine is being blackmailed by US and that's US and western nations modus operandi.

We have the capability to launch satellites, have a decent space program so there's no reason we can't build the capability to build aircrafts, missile systems and drones. We have to be self-sufficient and can't depend on any other country coz when we need these things the most, others will take advantage the same way US is trying to blackmail Ukraine. It doesn't help that we're surrounded by hostile nations - Pakistan, China, now B'desh and even Nepal and SL aren't that friendly either. Plus US will do everything in its power to keep India down. IMO we need to build stronger relationships with European Union, UK, Canada, Aus, NZ and latin Amaerican countries - all of the nations antagonized by US under Trump. India has to find new allies.

IMO, India had no choice. Soviet's fall hurt us big time (and emboldened Pooks) and US were the only dog of the world.
1998, post Nuclear, we were under sanctions by US. Hence, no support to us during Kargil.
Things started to move in sync, post WTC attacks both countries found Terrorism a common idea to align. Russia was still struggling so we needed a shoulder.

2014, Russia gained Crimea and shown the world it's back, Chinks too started to show their teeth. US realized that World Order is changing again to Cold War days and the way India was making noise globally (with it's free vaccine, Howdy Modi, Balakot and URI), US felt the need to curb.
They can't do that to China coz they were too late, but India still had dependencies which they exploited (GE engines, Tarrifs) and used the volatile neighbourhood of India to keep it inward looking.

US will never allow anyone to come close, they're talking today of G2 coz its easier for them to handle one big power like China instead of several biggish powers like India, Russia, Brazil. They can easily crush/alienate Russia if not for China and India...same goes for Chinks whom they can easily dominate China if there is no Russia.
Just like we're struggling with our neighbours, US is arming even Japs, South Koreans and Taiwan. We're allowed to sell weapons to Philippines coz US don't see a problem there as they know Brahmos is something against which Chinks defences are vulnerable.

We have to advance our arms & defence sector, especially related to airforce and drones. Drones will play a crucial role moving forward and there's no reason India shouldn't be leading that sector when even Turkey and Iran have shown capability in that area. Plus we've to focus on fighters, especially 5th gen. We're still on 4th or max 4.5 Gen and still struggling. The whole Tejas and LCA (Light Combat Aircraft) has been delayed by decade and a half. We can't afford such lethargy and need to have the capacity to build them inhouse and also export the same.

Need to start focusing on innovation and start projects related to small nuclear plants as that's what most nations are working towards. Along with that electric vehicles and unmanned vehicles with battery technology (similar to ABAT). We've largest no. of engineers and STEM graduates coming out every year and the govt has to ensure India becomes an innovation hub. Look at China for inspiration and see how far they've come over the last couple of decades. No reason we can't do so as well and the US tariffs is the right time for Indian govt to mobilize coz nobody will come out to help us. You don't want to be in the same position as Ukraine and for that we need to start working on multiple development projects. China kick-started their revolution by getting the Chinese researchers and engineers back by paying them insane amount of money. India has to do the same.

There are few challenges in achieving it. That's why we are slow

1. Unlike China, India is a democracy, so long term focus is a miss. Parties have their own agenda and priorities.

2. China has created walls (Social Media wise) to protect its citizens from outside noise, India dont have that as well are service based. We get news from all over the world and this put pressure at certain sectors.

3. India isnt rich enough, China did get a lot of support from US between 1970-2000 which helped them become a manufacturing hub. India dont have that. Hence we badly need pvt sector to rise as govt. Dont have enough funds for all.

4. Our beaurocrats are another problem. Most of them have properties in states and well...you can connect the dots.

5. China rules its people by using strong hand. India is too lenient due to point no 1. More freedom, more ideas, more conflicts, more resistance.

It means India may have to give another NOTAM in next 2-3 months...to test it with Aridhmaan

They are saying it was probably first time they tested it on a SSBN at its max range

Aridhaman or Arighaat makes no difference then.

Aridhamaan will be able to carry more K4's than Arighaat though.

Maybe next time an MIRV capable one if we haven't done that yet:om:

They do the tests just to ensure the capabilities.

Aridhmaan is much more capable and stealthier than Arighaat and Arihant. Its acoustic signature is lot lower.

There are also discussions of a multi submarine launch of missiles.Where 2 or more submarines will fire the missiles simultaneously.

Yup, democracy is the main barrier. China doesn't have to worry about building consensus and appeasing everyone. They can simply get on with it and do the right thing. They don't bother about trifles like making everyone happy. It's a difficult choice as democracy is what keeps India united and together else they'll become like European Union. And we don't know how the leader will turn out. If they do well for the country, that's great but if they're the greedy type like most of our politicians are, India may well become like Pakistan or an African nation.

Democracy is the better option but somehow all parties have to get on the same page regarding defense and innovation. Space will be the new sector along with Nuclear, clean energy, robotics and drones. Plus defense especially air defense (aircraft, missiles, drones etc.) will always be in demand. Lot of areas India can focus on and become leaders in. We lost the manufacturing hub battle to China and China has taken the lead on innovation as well but we can't afford to be laggards and have to turn it around the innovation front.

The tell tale signs are clear --- with Pak saying millions of lives would have been lost in the subcontinent - hinting at potentially using N ordnance after it got whipped through brutal precision strikes.

Yet - they have been parading a false victory ( just like 1965 and Kargil ) and positioning themselves as a counterweight to India in the region.

I wonder how long this honeymooon will last ? We have always tried to catch up in the info war game.

In 2019 Balakot, when they were hit - the narrative that got the most traction was - nothing happened - India did not show evidence. Our captured stalwart brave pilot was paraded

In 2025 Op Sindoor- when we smashed the daylights of them - disabling 11-12 airbases and all the satellite images were showing the massive damage in Pak ( and Pak could do squat in India ) ...the narrative shifted to us losing a few planes.  Nobody even talks about the massive strikes across the length and breath in Pak - the large number of smashed aircrafts inside Pak's hangers.

Even if Op Sindoor 2.0 is far more brutal and painful for Pak, unless we cease the narrative early on - cease territory and shame Pak by sending Munir into hiding - we are going to go a similar path.

Munir will resist imo confrontation with india next 2 years. Will solidify base at home. Must be aware of the fate of general zia. Needs to somewhat grow the economy.

He is likely to placate trump with sending troops to gaza and buying chinese military hardware.

He is not a rational man.

Plus he has detractors whose promotion has been stalled because of him and who want to see him in trouble.

Would not be surprised if an internal rogue faction does something stupid that incites India to launch 2.0

IMO, Munir has solidified his position in Pak. No one is even remotely near to challenge his authority. Pooks are spending huge amount of money to upgrade their weapon armoury.

Economy doesnt matter to him and the army. Local Pak public can eat garbage from the streets, but he wont care about it. As long as he doesnt get emboldened enough to challenge US & Chinks...he would be fine.

Munir is true Chad. Can't remember last time someone took control of Things to this degree. He will have to be put down. No other way of getting him out now.
