Disclaimer: HAL and MoD Dallas were harmed in this video :hatsoff:

Tbh...onus is onto TASL, Kalyani, L&T to rewrite the history and prove the worth of pvt sector.

If they succeed...it will be a killer blow to HAL and its future prospects, we may just see HAL working on commercial aircrafts while pvt sector on leading def projects.

High chance that AMCA might get inducted before Tejas mk2...mk1a to girte padte 2040 tak aa hi jayegi

5th gen will require fresh tech & a fresh ecosystem is reqd. The govt wants to broaden the ecosystem to include priv. players.

Will it deliver on time? Maybe / may be not.

I'd like to add that HAL is the BEST

aircraft assembler in the country now. It has unmatched infrastructure. It has a 10-year head start compared to others.

AMCA could go either way tbh.. either big success or failure.  No inbetween.

Along with HAL these 3 are also out of AMCA race

Adani Defence and Aerospace
BrahMos Aerospace (BATL)
Mahindra Defence Systems

This is a thing of beauty man.. literal protectors of Indian seas.  American MIC is the GOAT:adore:

6 would be enough for Pak.

Remaining 12 on Eastern seaboard+ A&N islands.

Add 15 C295 Tata Airbus MPA's and IOR is more or less sorted for next decade.   Indian Navy is really the crown jewel of our tri services if you look at how rapidly they are modernising in a constraining budget.

Need France to help us with our SSN program and we can literally A2 AD and complete sea denial to vast PLAN even in next decade in the IOR.

I think usa want to equip them eventually with the halo hypersonic missile.

We need to do same with whatever comes out of prohect vishnu.

I think india getting 50 p8 + hypersonic anti submarine missile with long range is going to make it very hard for anybody.

Add to that MH-60R SeaHawk, MQ-9B SeaGuardian, Drishti and Tapas. Navy is leagues ahead of Airforce and Army.
Once the P75(I), P77 and P18 projects are over, they'll become a maritime force.

What's the status of Tapas?? I thought that program is dead after that crash during the test in 2023?

Israelis have sabotaged that one by pushing Drishti which is hermes 900.

One got inducted and other was put to bin.

10 units of Tapas are ordered, delivery is planned between late 2026 to mid 2027. 6 will go to IAF and 4 to Navy.

Massive massive respect to these entrepreneurs. Quietly helping India build the marine capability.

Unmanned missile boats are much needed for the concept of "distributed lethality", without compromising on the lives.

MoD Anticipates Finalizing HAL-GE F414 Engine Deal by March 2026, 80% Tech Transfer Non-Negotiable https://defence.in/threads/mod-anticipates-finalizing-hal-ge-f414-engine-deal-by-march-2026-80-tech-transfer-non-negotiable.16836/

I am most worried about this deal, as this engine deal is not only crucial for Tejas mk2, but will also power our AMCA mk1.

Had there been any other organization in place of HAL, they would have started working on Tejas twin engine variant instead of waiting for F404...where we could have used Kaveri engine instead.

They can be fired from jags as well right?

At this moment...No.

SCALP can only be fired from Rafale, though IAF is looking to integrate it from Su30MKI & Tejas mk2 as well.

Theoretically, Mirage 2000 should fire it as well, but dont think IAF is looking at them for now.

S5 Submarines are planned to carry K5 & K6 missiles.

DRDO is allegedly working on K7 & K8 missiles as well...which will increase the umbrella to 12000 kms.

Currently K4 has a reported max range of 3500km, K5 will be at 5000-5500. While K6, K7 and K8 are target for 8k, 10k & 12k ranges respectively.

Given the situation, I do foresee that either Chinks or US will provide SSBNs to Pookistan sometime in the future..even if at a limited capability.

Hence after the S5 submarines...India should focus on building SSGNs if the funds permit, capability wise to I think we are there, SSBN program is the one where we seem to be on track considering this has been given utmost priority by our PMO.

AIP retrofitting of Scorpene submarines pushed to July 2026.

INS Khanderi will be the one whose hull will be cutted first..and DRDO Fuel Cell will be installed and then it will be retrofitted.

Delay happened due to DRDOs unpreparedness lf AIP Fuel Cell, which only got completed in Dec 25.
