vishalvirsingh Posted January 12 Posted January 12 As the title clearly says, i am trying to identify which fast bowlers should be closely watched in IPL 2026 so that we can identify their strengths and weaknesses. When i say fast bowlers , it is some one who bowls at least 6 balls out of 24 balls in 140+ range. some one who bowls just 2 to 3 effort balls in 24 balls in 140 range should be identified as a medium pacer or fast medium. we should clearly call that out that in this match , he was fast medium. Good point is among the 3 pacers yesterday Harshit was definitely fast and siraj and Prasidh were fast medium. Similiarly we also need ot identify medium pacers and medium pacer All rounders. i have heard of a tlented CSK pacer all rounder similiar to Hardik and who bowls faster than Nitish reddy. Nitish reddy does not seem to be a hardik replacement for sure. Also identify this skill - swing bowlers in the lines of BHuvi and deepak chahar. More information and video's shared will be appreciated.
vvvslaxman Posted January 12 Posted January 12 IPL gives exposuer. But real potential can only be seen when they play longer formats. T20 shows only a glimpse of their top level. When Mayank set the IPL on fire Ian Bishop was more excited than us. He elaborately talked about how to groom him. Nothing happened after that. pramodk 1

So far, we've seen that he can bowl yorkers and bouncers with accuracy, though he may need some guidance on how to use them efficiently, but that's part of learning curve. He fields well, and more importantly is a strong striker, unlike other tailenders we have, he has raw power to hack some runs both against pace and spin bowling. Pretty much like Umesh Yadav (minus the smoothness of the action).

This itself covers most bases, even our spin bowling stocks are not some earth shattering. Kuldeep, though talented is prone to lose his cool.

KKR usually go with 3 spinner + 2 pacer combo (and one pacer as 12th man) Harshit and Vaibhav will be first choice pacer (Pathirana can be the 12th man)....if they need 3rd indian pacer then choices are between Akashdeep, Umran and Tyagi. So they all will play sometime.

Ashok and Gurnoor both are in GT, which also has Siraj, Rabada, Prasidh, Arshad, Ishant. GT has Prithviraj Yarra as well. express bowling and Mosher 2

Ultimate_Game Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Anyone know what's the status of Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan? These're the only two pacers which looked intl class when I saw them the first time - Mohsin around 3 seasons ago and Mayank couple of seasons ago when he was bowling 155+. Since then they've been perenially injured. Any update?
