Current lot is simply too limited in their skill set. Apart from Rohit none of these guys used sweep forget about slog sweep. Abhishek doesn't sweep but his slog sweep is effective. Jaiswal also is in Rohit category Younis Khan swept Kumble off the length many times.

YK was one of the best batters against spin I have seen in subcontinent. Sehwag had a brutal method while YK was more surgical. Most 4th inns centuries, a record that may never be broken
Gollum Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Kuldeep's talent/skills are unquestionable. Just that he is a confidence based bowler like all wristies. Won't be surprised if we see a few MOTM performances by him in the WC. NZ, especially Mitchell play him well. Against them, RSA and Aus, Chakri is a better bet. Against Pak and Eng, KD should play.
putrevus Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) Younis and Misbah were awful whiteball batsman against spinners and in general not great whiteball batsmen, they were getting stuck without rotating strike. No wonder YK was kicked out of their t20 team even after winning world cup. They were very good against spinners in red ball cricket., I don't see how they were better players of spin than guy like Pujara who played spin much better on much more dicey wickets.
