Some silly mistakes that needs to be corrected.

He basically only faces max 13-14 balls in PP Outta available 36.

Ganju is pathetic in strike rotation. SKY is better somewhat

No he is not facing less number of ball, it just that every batter in Ind side is playing ultra-aggresive style of batting.

 

Ind did try the idea or rotating strike with Gill which does not work in t20 every batter has to hit the ball, there is no point in trying to push into gap for 1 and putting alot of pressure on 1 batter to do all the hitting.

 

The thing with Abhishesk is he is unique in terms of hitter and hence he gets runs at a v.high sr. It hardly happens that he swings and misses and he can create his own length to hit. So its not like he has to wait for certain length. And when he swings he connects.

 

Think some poster here showed the data for last ipl where the spread showed dot balls, 4/per-ball, 6/per-ball. If you drop down dots say like how kolhi does so his 4/6 hitting % goes down and those kind of batters hit 4/6 v.few balls, and if you get a 6 hitter the singles % goes down and dots goes up. 

 

Think iyer had was in kind of goldilock zone in boundary hit % and dot balls. 

 

Yes sanju is not a batter who prefers taking singles its one of reason, but it would be better if both batters are capable hitter than having only 1 batter to do all the hitting.

 

An other example (small sample) is of head and Marsh they are similar to sanju and abhishek. Another opening pair is Sifert and Allen both are aggressive batters but when both opens together allen has to take the back seat and sifert just swing at every ball if he connects its good if not he tries again and then in between allen get the srtike if sifert mishits for single some where.
