You need bowlers who can slow up the dlievery against beastsly hitters Lord and Ultimate_Game 1 1

Manoj prabakar started bowling off spin in 1996 after Jayasuriya assault. He lost all his confidence. Everyone was talking about keeping the ball away from arc he struggled.Because his strength is clean bowling batsman. What they have done is everyone started going deep into the crease and converted his good length into short ball whacked off the backfoot. He has no answer. He has no yorker like delivery . So no defensive option for him. I don't say he was bowling any different. Just that batsmen found a way on tracks that doesn't turn , that bounces optimally. FischerTal 1
FischerTal Posted March 6 Author Posted March 6 Mystery spinners become history quite easily once they are found out. Nothing beats a genuine leggie who can turn it on any pitch
vvvslaxman Posted March 6 Posted March 6 All said and done Darryl Mitchell vs Kuldeep will be discussed. But even with that weakness i think Chakri should be given a break. Ashwin is discussing elaborately about Varun C. I think he is not adapting or reading the batsman very well. Sanju samson told him to take time. But he keeps rushing through the overs even when he travels.

NZ plays Kuldeep quite well,Varun won't do any different than this Im tempted to play Siraj at Ahmedabad infact

Pandya cannot be trusted always or Arshdeep with 3rd over. But you do need a mystery spinner when the heat is on. Kuldeep has to be risked. If you watch how Fin Allen sets up against spinner that is the worst set up for Chakri. He will hit him for six sixes. He is very very close to stumps so that he can convert even full ball into short ball to whack it down the ground. It will be very very scary. Edited March 6 by vvvslaxman

They will surely have this in mind ,hope they don't bring in Washington for Abhishek instead Doesn't matter Abhishek isnt making any difference but for sanity replace a batter with batter, don't thin your lineup which already hasn't fired (barring this game) Edited March 6 by Suhaan

The pitch is on the slower side and pacers come on to the bat. Siraj will be hammered by NZ batters. Plus the ground is bigger so Varun will be a better option.

This is flawed logic,on these tacky surfaces pacers can be handy with their cutters and change of pace , offcourse Siraj isn't known for this but having played many games there with GT he certainly does know how to bowl there, plus,Varun has been terribly tripe, yesterday if you saw him ,batsmen just sat on their crease and he was still bowling way short You have made a very obvious point here, most captains will go for it but if the spinners available to you have shown that they aren't going to outbowl opposition spinners or even contain runs ,you have no choice left

He's one of the most expensive bowlers in IPL and has never done much in T20s. cowboysfan and Manucrick 2
cowboysfan Posted March 6 Posted March 6 on pattas in SMAT he was getting smoked by randos, only saving grace for the final is the pitch in Ahmedabad is slower than Mumbai and it might help him. Ultimate_Game 1

I think India needs some defensive options for road wickets. Almost every bowler we have are hittable on such surfaces. But you need intelligent bowler. Sundar of old was very intelligent. Current one is absolute trash.

I am a bit worried about Finn Allen who camps on the backfoot against all spinners not just Varun. He has the belief that he can play any spinner from backfoot. Master_better 1

Earlier he was pretty good in PP overs and very tough to get away. He used to bowl a perfect line & length and now he bowls half-trackers or over-pitchs. vvvslaxman 1

It is very difficult to contain him when in full flow on road wkts. Ultimate_Game 1
bsriharsha Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Just Bumrah isn't enough to get us over the line. Plus the Panoti stadium , We aren't winning this one.
