Dhoni is a poor test match player!

Bhajji's emotions were quite clearly evident yesterday when Dhoni missed few caught behind chances..

I feel for Dartbhajan because he had so many missed opportunities, including that bad LBW decision and the dropped catch by Mukund (I think?). Even then, his body language is pathetic whenever he's not in form; always has been. He's got this perpetual scowl on his face, his shoulders slump, and he bowls even more darts when he's got sh*t on his mind. It's so obvious, the batsmen pick up on it and exploit it to their advantage. Graeme Swann is just the opposite. Look at the placements Strauss enforces whenever Swann bowls. It pretty much reflects on the bowler's (and captain's) confidence. Somebody should train our players in maintaining good body language. They become so morose after a few bad overs, and that eventually affects our gameplay.

He has missed plenty of dismisals of Danish Kaneria. Infact I have heard from lot of Pakistani people that "Kamran Akmal finished Danish Kaneria's career" He has been that bad in keeping. And I am talking about this from 2006 days when he had saved that test in India battling hard with Razzaq on the other end on day 5.

Dhoni needs to start making runs now,its getting too long between innings where he is scoring .Earlier he used to score even in test cricket quite consistently but from last SL tour his test batting form has been pathetic.Needs to start scoring.

Outside Asia he has excellent average in England(nearly 40 ) and New zealand (77). His numbers are very deceptive outside of SC. He is an opportunist away from SC, waiting for flat tracks to ca$h in. You are the type of person who just quotes stats without taking a deeper look at those numbers.

And u are the type of person who criticizes every Indian player just for the sake of it. Fact is he has played more match saving important knocks home or away than any other wicket keeper we have produced however u want to moan and cry.

for once I agree with you. Whenever I questioned Dhoni's abilities I was labelled a fanatic who worshiped Goddy and was jealous of Dhoni's success etc etc...........but now people are realizing that Dhoni's technique is not good enough for Tests.

Bhai understand the difference between Sachin and Dhoni. Dhoni is not a specialist batsman and never was. He made his place because of his batting in ODIs and his test performances were always decent to average and not extraordinary. He is not a top order batsman and will never be. Even in England, he had scored 2-3 aggressive 50s at 7. If our top 6 do not do much, you cannot blame lower order. It is the job of top 6 to score runs for the team. Dhoni is there as WK/batsman and as a WK/batsman his record is fine. Problem is over expectations that people have from Dhoni in test cricket.
