Correct. This is the difference. On skiddy Indian pitches , our batsmen can belt deliveries off a hard length.

Our team is a decent bowling team if we use the resource correctly. If i have to pick the word, i would pick Orchestration. Iyer doesn't really orchestrate his resources. It is like a conductor comes, sits and expects everyone to play what is infront of them.He provides the cue, sets the tempo, sets the coordination. For outsiders he is just waving wands. He does more than that. Iyer has to realize his captaincy job doesn't end with tossing the ball to a bowler.

He will settle down and we still are a very good T20 team. However we need to make adjustments to the way we play if we want to defend our title in Australia. It would again be big grounds.

India could have an entire team that specializes in western conditions. Dig deep and find players who can excel on grassy pitches. Clearly the superstars of IPL flat pitches can't handle the ball movement in English conditions. 

 

This experience would have been even worse on Australian or South African pitches.

As importantly, give them more practice time 3-4 weeks prior to the WC in those exact conditions, and don't expect them to simply adjust on the fly. Lack of pre-series practice time has hurt us in many a first SENA test, can't let it happen in a T20WC.

With this lot, you're going to need more than 3-4 weeks. Especially for bowlers. There is an art to fully utilizing the bowling conditions as a bowler. 

Is it a coincidence that Bumrah plays a game and we win? I think not. Bumrah and Hardik have been the x-factors for us for a while.

Someone was talking about how critical it was for Bumrah to remove Brook first-ball. Bumrah is GOAT-level, but some 2 bowlers need to step up to at least 80% Bumrah.

 

As for Pandya, he is the team-fulcrum - bat, ball, balance, clutch. Better find someone soon to take over.

There is a cliff past Bumrah in Indian bowling. I'd not be too off if I said that Bangladesh has better bowling cohort than India without Bumrah. That is painfully sad but probably the reality. 

 

Both Pandya brothers have the clutch gene. Kunal has shown that in the IPL. Hasn't Kunal won IPL with handful of teams?

Krunal has 3 man of the match awards in T20 internationals in his short career.
