rumors of tilak varma being groomed as a backup for shreyas iyer in odis show how clueless this management is we are already struggling in odis and bringing tilak into the middle order is another massive step backward tilak isn't half the 50-over batter iyer is this is the exact same brain dead logic they used in t20s when they replaced iyer with sky and completely ruined the middle order structure

I don't know,I'm not watching this series at this point of time but have regularly seen these trundlers heavily benefitting from horizontal movement since quite long, they need to make sure there is bounce on offer more than lateral swing which brings these medium pacers into the picture

What I am observing is that .... you just have to make these low quality domestic batters play ball after ball. Even 122 k low bounce balls with minimal movement are ok to dismiss them if most balls are hitting off and middle stump.

When was the last time you had to see quality pace and bounce in domestics ,I reckon it was ,from the start of the season 16-17,18,19

Those batsmen had to tackle red hot Saini,a fairly quick Khejoriliya,Umesh,Ishant also used to feature, few more names were there quality looked better

Now they have flooded every competition with these useless trundlers

Commentators strongly criticizing their AT favourite Mukesh Kumar's accuracy, because they have found an even slower pacer to praise.  :phehe:

In their minds, the slower the pacer the better bowler he is.

They have reached enlightenment

Listen to the domestic cricket commentary.

There is a hatred towards quick pacers except Joydeep Mukherjee and WV Raman.

And it's these people who become State Level and Zonal selectors.

That's true.

Tons of runs scored, against hordes of military medium pacers and darter spinners, carry little meaning in international cricket selection.

Smaran made 200 where gurnoor was thrashed last season. Punjab was all out for 55. Smaran was tested in IPL where he failed understandably as that is not his format.

Kavrappa got 4 wickets!! our batting stock is at an all time low and the only thing we seem to care about is IPL and T20 format.

Kaverappa has had decent first class seasons. NOt a terrible bowler for a domestic set up.

Neither first class nor IPL gave us the best players. It has mostly been under-19 for more than 2 decades. Kohli, Rohit, Pujara, Gill, Jaiswal, Kela, Samson, Pant, Kishan are all under-19 world cup products.

Even Bangladesh is getting all their best players from U19 and grooms them in DPL where they play competitive 50 over matches.

Pakistan is selecting players from their defunct FC system and paying the price.

India failed to goorm u19 pacers like Tyagi,Hangarkekar, Sushant Mishra. All showed potential.  Now we have Deepesh.

Yes coz domestic lejhunds didn't like their spots being taken over by younger Pacers.

Batters enjoy easy life in India and U19 batting talents do get opportunities eventually unlike pacers and even spinners.

For a country like India , bringing in a pacers at a very young age is better unlike SENA countries where even matured guys can last for a few years say Darryl Tuffy.
