I saw that too. Could not find any mention. And no way Imran was bowling 150 k+. He was never that quick and his quickest years were the early 1980s. Rightarmfast 1

In modern terms only joffra comes close to be looking like not putting any effort still clocking 145+ kmph . Not sure but think they also bowled diff length in this test. But historically on speedometer the fastest balls have been fuller in lenghts, all these bowlers were bowling bumpers and that will have slowed down the ball after pitching. May be some1 with better understanding can explain where the pace is coming from, bt does not seem to match any modern bowler who bowls 145+ kmph. Imran may have been 26-27 when this tst was done. Apart from Jeff everyone is same age range as modern fastest bowler bowled their fastest ball 24-26. Only exception is mark wood. Edited Monday at 10:31 PM by tapandrun

Rightarmfast Posted yesterday at 05:45 AM Posted yesterday at 05:45 AM Imran Khan was a military medium bowler when he started off. About 115-125k's kinda bowler. It was only after John Snow trained him, he started bowling quicker. Imran at his fastest, wasn't a genuine quickie. He would be Fast medium, with the ability to bowl around 145-147ish at times. ( And I have seen old interviews of Australian batsmen who played him at his quickest, calling him ' fast enough', but never calling him a tearaway). My assumption is, Imran would have been similar to Ajit Agarkar in pace-138-142/143k's on an average. I don't know what is the difference in speeds when you measure the speed at batsmen's end, and when you do it at release point. But I do not think Imran was bowling 145-150 regularly, as mentioned above. Also, dont think WI pacers were bowling 155ish. express bowling and tapandrun 2

Kapil was mostly like Pollock or Vaas, both were in 130-140 at the start, by the time they retired they became 120-130. I think Kapil was decently quick till his 1986-87 injury. After that he became slow...even his numbers nosedived after 1986-87 if I am not wrong. Edited yesterday at 10:20 AM by singhvivek141 express bowling and bouncers 2
