:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: New Delhi, September 22 When Rest of India take on Delhi in the Irani Cup game starting Wednesday, one of their biggest worries will be how to tackle the two men at the top of the order. For Delhi’s openers, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, are not only one of the most destructive opening combinations in Cricket today, they’re also rather unconventional. Together, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir have doled out more than a fair share of livewire performances for Team India, but have you ever wondered what they say to each other mid-pitch, at the end of every over? Their virtuoso batting displays are peppered, according to the batsmen themselves, not with strategic discussions as one would expect — they just sing. “Aaj kal Singh is Kinng ke gaane chal rahe hain,” says Sehwag with a smile. “We love to sing a few songs while batting together. That’s better than talking cricket in the middle. It’s difficult to say about the choice of songs... one starts and the other joins in. And we do this right in the centre of the pitch so the microphones can’t pick it up.” Gambhir says it helps calm his nerves. “We sing whatever is stuck in our heads. It’s important to enjoy yourself, only then can you perform. When you are playing in front of huge crowds, you tend to get nervous. It’s important to calm the nerves and what better way than to sing? http://www.indianexpress.com/news/Gambhir---Sehwag--Making-opponents-dance-to-their-tunes/364607

They could easily become the best ever opening combination in the history of Indian cricket. These two guys have played a lot of cricket together for their state, their company, their country, and they know each other very well. You can see how good their communication is on the field and how they enjoy each other's company. Previous Indian opening combinations were just a selection of two random people, with plenty of make-shift openers - no wonder the test team never found a long lasting combination. Until now, that is.
