What happened to my handwriting?

I write beautifully on the green board.....often got compliments from parents.But my drawings on the board are bad. I draw better on paper and write better on the board.:--D

I see what you're saying. The reason I dont mind that in an exam is' date=' if you have 2 hrs, so does everyone else. So its not so much of an issue. Stuff like Turing machines, PDAs, NFAs, etc is non-deterministic(:woot:). Either it hits you in a second, or you spend an hour thinking about it. Thats what I hate, because its beyond my control, it doesnt matter how much I study, how smart I am. Have any of you also felt basic math skills dimnishing? - like, you used to be faster with basic math in India, and in US - you rely more on computers, calculators etc...?

My basic Math is still intact. What I have started to forget are Mathematical terms that I rarely use these days - Standard Deviation etc etc. Coming back to handwriting, I still can not get over the whole concept of letters and how it is very much a dieing art these days. And it is one of those things that is for sure a genuine loss, and not merely hanging on to the past. Any college goer, specially those who have lived in hostels, will attest to getting drunk with friends in a college dorm room, the place covered with smoke, all dreaming of future and pining for their girl while the stereo hums Jagjit Singh & Rajinder Singh Rahbar's magic Tere khusboo mein base khat main jalaata kaise Tere khat aaj mein ganga mein baha aaya hoon, aag bahte huye paani mein laga aaya hoon. I once sent this song to an American girl, who did not understand the lyrics but loved the music. She cried for a long time after I translated the song for her.

I wrote a couple and then got tired of it. It seemed stupid to write when I could talk to her on phone whenever I wanted. My first GF wrote me a few letters. At that time I found that quite unnecessary as we were in the same college and we used to spend some 9/10 hours together everyday. Still she would think of poetic stuff and write to me. She asked me to write to her also which I never did. Always hated writing letters. But I understood the value of those letters after we broke up. I kept those letters with me for a long time till one day asked those letters back. That was just a few days before her marriage. I thought she was going to burn them. But after taking the letters she said she was going to treasure them life long. :emotional: I hoped not to see a Sangam like situation.:D I dont think I ever wrote a letter by hand ever. Received a few, but never kept.

Nandya bhau, Rahbar is one thing Ghalib is completely different. Is pe to thesis mil jaayega! One of my favorite works of course. Let me tell you what I think of it: Hazaaron Khwaishein aisi ke har khwaish pe dam nikale.. Ghalib says that like any other human being he has 1000 wishes, and more, each one of them so immense in themselves that you can practically give your life away to fulfill it. Bahut nikale mere armaan lekin phir bhi kam nikale. Shabdon ki hera-pheri. Gaur farmaiye. Ghalib farmaate hain ke he has had the pleasure of fulfillment of some of these wishes, in the end the number of wishes that were fulfilled are but a fraction to actual khwaish. See how the author starts with suggesting how for each wish one practically loses his life, and then comes around to suggest he lost, fulfilled his wishes which in turn escape only for his soul to still remain thirsty. My favorite part of the ghazal is: Nikalna khuld se aadam ka sunte aaye hain lekin bade beaabroo ho kar tere kooche se hum nikale.. The banishment of Adam from paradise is considered one of the most shameful act in human history. Ghalib uses that to create a bench mark of embarassment and then conveys how getting ridiculed/embarassed by his beloved at her place was inherently more saddening than Adam's. Calls for.... Thats one of those things that I have started to understand more and more as the age goes by. One of my pet peeves of myself is how I tend to get annoyed when my parents ask me the same question more than a few times(as an example when I call them they almost always ask whats the time), however when I was a kid I am sure I have badgered by parents by same questions left right and center and never saw them annoyed. You should probably write your Mom a letter, trust me it will make her immensly more happy to see you write than taking your call. And you will also feel more into it.

Girls are like that, more romantic, less action-oriented and also stronger, I think, when it comes to matter of heart. I know quite a few girls who have done that, kept all the letters. Bear in mind that sometimes letters can very well be borderline risque but girls have this amazing trait of putting things in perspective. They can very well create a compartment inside their heart just for you, even if you are past, and would never do anything to hurt their spouse. In some ways they are still in love, with ex, without being wrong. I greatly admire that trait...and it scares the ^hit out of me too! xxx

I wrote couple of letters to my fiancee and I asked her to do the same earlier this year.. Now I wrote something long after a long time so the first attempt wasnt impressive.. so I had to re-write the whole letter.. it was fun.. One thing is I need a good pen and surface to put down better hand-writtings.. otherwise birds are flying here and there.. Now that I am taking MBA classes, I write lot of notes and boy its a mess.. but to be honest, I never had good hand-writings
