>He is good, but he needs to move away from crappy Saurashtra if he wants to get a look-in for the Test side well Saurashtra these days have a strong fighting unit. With Pujara, R. Jadeja and Parmar, its a decent side and can give run for the money to the big teams. Just go and check their last years Ranji record and you will be surprised

Well, if he is elite material, then he should be blooded early on the international stage like sachin was. Sink or swim at that level...it is the fastest learning curve and only the young and very talented can do it.

Son and pupil of former Ranji player Arvind Pujara, Cheteshwar finished as the Under-19 World Cup's highest scorer with 349 runs at an average of 116. He'd already displayed his hunger for big scores with a triple-century against Baroda at Under-14 level, a 211 against England Under-19, and 145 for Saurashtra in just his second first-class match. In the World Cup, his 97 against West Indies and unbeaten 129 against England - an almost faultless one-day innings - took him to the top of the run-charts, past his big-scoring team-mates Gaurav Dhiman and Rohit Sharma. Pujara's gameplan is simple and he plays within his limitations. His technique is classical; upright at the crease and confident through both sides of the field. One of the top run-getters in the 2007-08 Ranji Trophy season, Pujara signed on with the Kolkata Knight Riders, of the lucrative Indian Premier League, in March 2008. In October that year he was picked for the Challenger Trophy and scored 386 in an Under-22 match for Saurashtra. Cricinfo Staff (October 14, 2008) ------------- hmmm-son of a former ranji player,he will get his chance if he is any good.

The only thing that scares about Pujara is is this pic; 323764.jpg?alt=2 How many here think he slightly resembles 'The Great one, The one and only' Ajit Agarkar! :((

Get him into the team. With the current form he is in' date=' he should be ahead of quite a few players in the picking order![/quote'] I think he played in the challenger tourney and didn't make much. I just don't remember his score. [37 I think].

3 triple tons in 3 weeks!!!!! Someone needs to check what's he having for breakfast and lunch. Get that for Rahul Dravid :winky: Seriously, amazing consistency in scoring 300s. A 100 from him will sound like he has had a bad game.
